Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour involving women.

The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
