Efforts to dislodge a self-described "African tribe" from individually-held land have begun in the southern Scotland.
Police and court officials have turned up at the encampment where a small group of the self-titled Kingdom of Kubala have been staying in forest near Jedburgh for a number of weeks.
They stated they were taking back land that was stolen from their ancestors long ago – but the regional authority said they were breaking the law.
The removal notice was authorized by Sheriff Peter Paterson last week after the group ignored a previous instruction to leave their site.
The community has a increasing online presence, with in excess of 100,000 followers on digital channels, and has received global media attention.
Ghanaian one individual, 36, and Jean Gasho, 42, who is originally from Zimbabwe, first arrived in the region near Jedburgh in the earlier this year.
Referring to themselves as a monarchic title and a royal designation, they established a base on a elevated area above the town in the Scottish Borders.
They were met by assistant Kaura Taylor, from Texas, who refers to herself as Asnat.
The group stated hereditary claims to land and insisted that the self-declared realm had been born.
Local authorities first displaced the group from the original camp above Jedburgh in July.
But rather than leave the area, they moved about a mile away of town to a woodland area next to an commercial zone.
Mr Offeh has earstated that he was "not afraid" of the order for their eviction.
The legal proprietors, the proprietors, successfully applied to the courts for the group to be evicted.
However, local officials said they had refused to obey with an instruction to leave the land by 17:00 on Monday.
A elected representative said last week that the group were violating the law by occupying someone else's land.
He said the property owner had been left with no alternative but to seek an ruling from the sheriff.
The deputy leader said it was regrettable – but not surprising – that the group had defied the ultimatum to leave the site.
They have refused every opportunity to work with us," he said.
Assistance is available, but we will not allow and let them break the law."
